Food for thought:
There will come a time when you believe everything is finished.
That will be the beginning.

About afterchaos project
Afterchaos was a collaborative project launched on July 27 2001 by Carole Guevin. The project is now dormant and the site is still maintained as a repository of articles, essays and ideas to inspire creatively new media designers.
Enjoy!
Like who needs another blog, webzine or collaborative site? The noise to signal is too high already, why add to it?
Simply - to share my kind of fun. Let's say it's meant for thinkers, philosophers, dreamers and doers... how's that?
I've come to the realization that it's not that my own thoughts are all that important -- but more so the thoughts of those who have made me think throughout the years. Call it a memetic in nature (mental pattern-based) explorative project dedicated to those who have inspired me, tutored me and opened new avenues of wonder and discovery.
This is what jeffrey said over at k10k : "what's missing from our industry is mentoring."
Some of you might know me through netdiver.net, a new media portal I operate. Others might know me through our communication design studio, pixeltable where I am chief imagineer (cool name for designing with technology). Some others might have known me through various lists or projects I've contributed to - the latest being Independents Day. Some others, know me personally.
Overall, most don't know me at all.
Some antecedents as to my inextinguishable quench to learn? At 4 started drawing. At 7 my father decided that I could read only 2 books a week; it didn't take me long to increase the page numbers, in order to obey him. At 13 was kicked out of musical school for improvising. At 14 wrote my life manifesto (to which I still adhere), my first play, was an activist (1967) and decided I was an artist. At 23 I hooked onto a 760 baud terminal to the primitive scientific network - a turning point at the highest of the cold war - as I was introduced to the world geopolitics. Between then and now, lead 3 simultaneous lives: mothered 3 kids, visited the corporate ladder in communication related jobs as well as pursued my artistic inclinations by dipping into directing plays, amateur film making, poetry and songwriting, serious music project with a band as well as communication design. Six years ago, I fell head over heels on the network. The constant across all these years: learning.
What you will find here?
A maelstrom of topics, ideas and thoughts. They don't follow a strict scientific methodology; content can be documented as to its source but it is not the place here to do so. To some it will be pure intellectual ecstasy other will want to throw up. This is an expression platform - it's an assemblage of eclectic thoughts.
The project is initially three-fold: editorial content + research compilations articles + collaborative modeling. Down the road we might expand into a wider public discussion.
Some areas, will be fed by creative brainware pitching their time and expertise into exploring new models. The first being: Building an horizontal virtual collaborative team model.
Willing or not to admit this - all we know comes from somebody else's knowledge which again came from somebody else... ad vitam eternam.
The books we read. The teachers we have. The friends with whom we debate. The colleagues whose thought trends we admire... and so on and on. This synthesizing project wears a name:
:: afterchaos. Welcome, you're just in time, the journey begins.
